Last Chance for Skating@Life

Don’t miss out on frozen family fun! It has been another jam-packed season for Newcastle’s favourite outdoor ice rink, with crowds of visitors flocking to Life Science Centre for a spin around the ice. If you haven’t been for a whirl, there’s only one week left to skate. Kath Howes, Head of Operations at Life said; “The last day to skate will be Sunday 22 February from 11am -6pm, so don’t miss the opportunity to get on the ice and show off your moves!” The final week of the ice rink promises to be a busy one, as it falls during Life’s Frozen February Half Term! From 14 – 22 February, Life Science Centre will be offering a range of exciting activities to keep the whole family occupied over the half term break. Skating is just the beginning of the fun; expect fancy dress, liquid nitrogen and a spot the snowman competition! Visitors can enjoy everything the Centre has to offer, includingIce Busking - where Life’s Science Explainers will freeze things before your very eyes- as well as the chance to get hands-on in a fast-paced Pinball Workshop, inspired by the classic arcade game. On top of these special activities, the Centre has a host of exhibitions to visit, including Wildlife Photographer of the Year and the hands-on Curiosity Zone that is guaranteed to unleash your inner scientist. Life also boasts the region’s only 4D Motion Ride* (currently showing the adrenaline-fuelled Retro Race), as well as the North’s largest planetarium with a daily live show celebrating the chilly North East skies. As an added bonus during this February half term, children can visit the Science Centre for FREE**, so why not pop down and join in the frozen fun? For opening times and prices, please visit www.life.org.uk or call (0191) 243 8210 *For safety reasons, visitors wishing to ride the 4D Motion Ride must be a minimum of 1.2m in height. ** One free child admission with every full paying adult.
