Kosoti Video Challenge
KOSOTI (in conjunction with O2 Think Big) have announced a video challenge whereby the general public are invited to produce a video for their song “Pirouettes”.
Convinced that the best videos are most often the simplest ones that are executed with imaginative ideas and resourcefulness, they are challenging the public to come up with their best efforts using whatever location, props, equipment and software they have available.
“The idea is to create a platform that will tease out fresh new talent that may be hidden away. Stuck in their bedrooms, creating great videos on their laptops, tablets or even phones, but not really doing anything with it” say kosoti, “our Cradle video was made with a pre-owned iPad mini and a few downloaded Apps and although the footage was taken over 6 months the video was put together and published within 4 hours”.
“O2 Think Big” has awarded the band funding in order for the idea to reach as many people as possible through social networking and traditional advertising. Kosoti will also be contacting schools and colleges who have media departments to ask if they would like to get involved and offer the idea to students as a summer project.
If people don’t already own a copy of “Pirouettes” they can join the mailing list at kosoti.com and get a FREE download link.
The challenge has begun and people will be asked to submit their entry by 6pm on 30th October 2014 when the best/most popular ten will be published on kosoti.com for public voting. The best/most popular video will then be decided on the 31st November 2014. Kosoti will also be playing live on the 20th of December 2014 at O2 Academy2 Newcastle where they will play the video alongside their performance of “Pirouettes”.
