Newcastle born alt/folk singer/songwriter Keiandra’s clever use of lyrics in her self penned songs fill you with intrigue and interest, whilst her haunting and ethereal vocals carry you on a journey that will leave you wanting more, which is why she has a growing fan base which keeps her in demand as a regular performer in the North East. Keiandra accompany’s her stunning voice with acoustic guitar and her much loved original 1966 blue Fender Mustang which she recently acquired. On a recent trip to New York she searched every music shop in Manhattan and Brooklyn only to return to the uk to discover one in London. This combined with Keiandra’s love of travel and sense of adventure inspired her debut EP ‘Empty Palaces’. Keiandra has just been announced to play at Evolution Emerging May 23rd  at Blank Studios Newcastle, she has also been confirmed for the Unlimited Festival in June. Her latest song ‘Wanted’ can now be heard on sound cloud  this will be the second song to be released the first ‘Artificial Light’ was played on Nick Roberts BBC Introducing recently.  Keiandra says of this experience When I was first told it was going to be played I was super excited but, when it actually came to the evening to be played on the radio I didn’t want to listen at first but,  my sister Montana dragged me to the radio in the kitchen where my whole family including my nana who was hanging on the  end of the phone  at her home were all listening to it play with me it was so awkward but amazing when if was over I just wanted them to play it again .“ It’s been a busy few months for Keiandra having recently toured with fellow artists  Beth Macari and Joe Taylor in various venues in and around Newcastle, opening up for Baz from The Stranglers, performing at Newcastle Central Station for UGOT ’On the Right Tracks‘.and opened at the launch of  James Carol and  Annas Anchor CD  at A Head Of Steam, and working on her videos for ‘Wanted’ and ‘Empty Palaces’ Keiandra is also taking time out of her busy schedule to write a song for feature film  “An Arrangement of Thorns ” by WoodenGate productions which is based and filmed here in the North East. After being involved in the short film of the same name she was more than happy to help out with the full length feature. Keiandra is very proud of her northern roots and to be involved it is both an honor and a pleasure as their is so much talent here and the area is beautiful. Keiandra is currently working hard on her EP ‘Empty Palaces’ which will feature 4 songs in her unique style one of which is the title. It is due for release in the late summer.
