Just Two Weeks Left to Enter the Ballot for the 2023 AJ Bell Great North Run

There are just two weeks to go until the ballot closes for the 2023 AJ Bell Great North Run, which will take place on Sunday 10 September 2023. The iconic half marathon brings people from across the UK and around the globe together for an epic 13.1 mile party, all the way from Newcastle to South Shields.

With 60,000 entrants, the AJ Bell Great North Run is the biggest running event in the country.

The positive economic impact of the event on the North East’s economy is over £30 million and runners participating for good causes raise an estimated £25 million in charitable donations every year. 

The AJ Bell Great North Run showcases the best of the region nationally and internationally. As well as being shown live on the BBC, Newcastle’s incredible city centre, South Shields epic coastline and our famously enthusiastic supporters, are broadcast to 169 territories around the world.

With 1.3 million finishers and counting, the popularity of the AJ Bell Great North Run grows every year and 99% of finishers surveyed say they’d recommend the event to a friend.
