intu Eldon Square Gets Set For its Biggest Ever Student Shopping Event

Newcastle’s student shopping night returns to intu Eldon Square on Tuesday 30th April with lots of exclusive discounts, live demonstrations in store and entertainment on the malls for students to experience.


Over 70 of intu Eldon Square’s top stores such as All Saints, New Look and Levi’s and are taking part in its spring student shopping night this year. Plus, restaurants such as Tapas Revolution will be offering as much as 50% off the full bill and PizzaStorm giving 20% off, with every fifth person in the queue receiving their pizza for free! 


For the first time, retail brand John Lewis & Partners will be taking part, offering a 10% discount across the store. Jane Matthewson, events and marketing coordinator, at John Lewis & Partners Newcastle, said: “We are excited to be offering 10% discount on all lines of our assortment, as part of the intu Eldon Square student shopping night. We are delighted to be able to give this discount to all customers shopping during the event between 4pm and 8pm on the 30 April.” 


For those beauty-savvy students, Topshop is showcasing live demonstrations for the application of Dolls Lashes and free barbering from Kobe throughout the evening. 


Monki, a firm favourite amongst Newcastle students, will be offering a full set of gel nails from Gosforth’s bespoke nail artists Skullen Nail Design which will be free with any purchase in-store. 


Cosmetics retailer LUSH will also be hosting an exclusive student product making session.


intu Eldon Square’s charity of the year for 2019, Tyneside and Northumberland MIND will be at this year’s event to raise awareness of mental health amongst the student community with their very own magician who has used magic to combat his own mental health challenges.


Phil Steele, general manager at intu Eldon Square, said: “We’re looking forward to giving Newcastle’s student population a night to remember with some brilliant discounts and deals. Representatives from our Charity of the Year, Tyneside and Northumberland MIND, will also be on hand to raise awareness of mental health among young people and provide support and more information on where to seek help.”

Young people often have to cope with many different situations and unfamiliar challenges like exams, relationships and other pressures of growing up and we want students to know we’re here to help.”
