intu Eldon Square adds a spark to the festive season
Newcastle city centre’s Christmas decorations will illuminate the city on Thursday 17 November, and intu Eldon Square is joining in the fun with an evening of free festive family entertainment.
The internationally acclaimed street theatre act, Spark, are back by popular demand for a second year, and will be wowing the audience with their spectacular light and drum act as they parade throughout the centre.
Shoppers will also be entertained by a host of roaming performers, including a magical winter fairy and snowy stilt walkers, as well as comedy entertainers Christmas Crackers.The cracker duo will be searching for the best Christmas cracker jokes, and encouraging shoppers to share their favourite jokes on intu Eldon Square ’s Facebook page for the chance to win a £50 intu Gift Card.
intu Eldon Square is also inviting shoppers who are in the centre before 17 November to pick up a Christmas event leaflet, and return it between 4 & 8 pm on 17 November, for the opportunity to win a £500 intu Gift Card.
Outside Debenhams, families are invited to enjoy the ‘Reindeers Rock’ party where children can rock with Brenda body-pump Blitzen and DJ Danny Dasher, make their own reindeer antlers, play cheeky reindeer games and learn some special reindeer moves! Before leaving, every new reindeer recruit will be given their own reindeer certificate to take home along with a little can of reindeer food – in order to be prepared for Santa’s arrival!

We’ve already welcomed George’s Great British Kitchen, Frankie & Benny’s, Ask Italian, Giraffe, TGI Fridays, Handmade Burger Co. and Pizzastorm. New restaurants are opening every week, so there’s even more opportunity for busy shoppers to relax and refuel during the busy Christmas period.”
