INNSiDE The Bedroom x Aelius Alternative Music Festival: INNSiDE Newcastle Reveals Second Intimate Gig of the Ongoing Cultural Series

On Friday 5th April, a suite at the Quayside-based lifestyle hotel, INNSiDE Newcastle, will be transformed for the second time, into a stage for emerging artists, thanks to a collaboration between INNSiDE by Meliá UK and Aelius Alternative Music Festival.

Three exceptional acts from across the UK will join INNSiDE for an intimate set, ahead of Newcastle’s all-new festival Aelius Alternative, which supports emerging artists and cultural venues in the city. To launch the exciting weekend, Jupiter Strange, Georgia Johnson and

Gemma Gates will be performing in the Townhouse Suite on Friday evening, as part of the INNSiDE The Bedroom series.

Jupiter Strange are a psychedelic pop/ rock‘n’roll band from Scotland. The band have toured venues and festivals across the country including the legendary Kendal Calling. Recently, their eccentric records have been featured on radio stations such as BBC Radio 6 Music. Their stripped back two piece band will be performing a rare acoustic set in the Townhouse Suite.

Georgia Johnson perfectly blends indie folk influences with the vibrance of pop-punk. Each of Georgia’s releases sound different, with her audience always expecting the unexpected. Bringing her ethereal yet edgy personality to life with music, her style focuses on trendsetting guitar sounds and lyrics - made to be felt.

Gemma Gates is an Irish-born singer-songwriter currently based in Leeds. Her songs explore alternative perspectives on the folk traditions of her birthplace, with a focus on bold melodies, rich harmonies and personal lyricism. Gemma’s first EP is set to be released this year, offering a unique and intimate take on the indie-folk genre.

INNSiDE The Bedroom is a series of gigs and experiences in an intimate setting across INNSiDE UK hotels. Last year, INNSiDE Newcastle held its first event with local independent record label Rebel Rose, alongside performances from Russell Stewart and Rosie H Sullivan.

Aelius Alternative Music Festival is Newcastle’s all-new grassroots festival, supporting emerging talent, cultural venues, and businesses in the city. For the debut event, performances will be taking place across five stages in Newcastle’s city centre including INNSiDE’s Townhouse Suite, overlooking the unmissable views of the River Tyne.

Garry Fortune, Director of Operations UK, said: “INNSiDE is excited to continue the INNSiDE The Bedroom series in partnership with Aelius Alternative Music Festival. After three successful events in Manchester, Liverpool, and Newcastle the collaboration continues to enhance INNSiDE by Meliá UK’s connection to local culture. Perfectly aligned with INNSiDE’s philosophy to ‘Stay Curious’, the promise our guests will have access to extraordinary experiences enriched with local music, art and wellness.

Music-lovers will have the chance to win two spots at the exclusive gig at INNSiDE Newcastle on Friday 5th April, two tickets to Aelius Alternative Music Festival plus an overnight stay via a competition on @innside_by_melia_uk channel.
