Huge Food and Drink Festival Coming to Exhibition Park in Newcastle Announces Live Music Lineup

The eagerly anticipated Newcastle Food and Drink Festival has unveiled the stellar lineup for its debut in Exhibition Park, ensuring an immersive experience for food and music enthusiasts alike. Attendees can expect a buzzing atmosphere soundtracked to all time classics and incredible local talent.

Set to take the stage on Saturday, May 4th, is ‘We Are Champion’, a tribute to one of the greatest rock bands in history, Queen. With their charismatic stage presence and electrifying energy, they are set to take attendees through the eras with a setlist composed of Queen’s most iconic hits, such as ‘Another One Bites The Dust’, ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’, and ‘Bohemian Rhapsody.’

Accompanying We Are Champion are a diverse array of talented acts: the incredible Will Forrester on Saxophone; the captivating live vocals of Ellie Ferguson; Voice of The Town choir with their soulful harmonies; DNR Music Mayhem and their acoustic covers of famous tracks, and the immersive rock of The Climate Stripes.

Sunday, May 5th, invites festival-goers to witness another enchanting tribute act ‘Laura Olivia as Taylor Swift’, embodying the spirit of one the biggest global sensations of our time with renditions of hits such as ‘Love Story’ and ‘Cruel Summer’. Joining Laura Olivia are the award winning local group Rock Choir, Howlin Mat with their red-hot blues, the soothing acoustics of Scoble, Swan and Friends, and Hit The Lights with their captivating rock.

On Monday, May 6th, Bank Holiday attendees can experience I Am Meghan, an act capturing the uncanny vocals and charisma of Meghan Trainor. Through chart toppers such as ‘All About That Bass’ and ‘Made you Look’, I Am Meghan is set to bring the essence of the global pop-sensation to life. Joining her are several more gifted musicians, including Newcastle based singer-songwriter Phil Graham, the powerful guitar riffs of Gumbox, and the dynamic sounds of Leeds City Stompers.

Beyond the live music, festival goers can enjoy a wide array of entertainment, including a Live Cookery Theatre hosted by MasterChef finalist Anthony O’Shaughnessy, a Live Entertainers Stage, Kids Activities, Roaming Comedy, a Funfair & Inflatable Land, and more. The festival provides insight into the region’s local talent whilst ensuring there’s amusement tailored to all ages.

Food enthusiasts can indulge in the Street Food Arena, host to cuisines from around the globe; from Japanese dumplings to Mexican tacos and succulent pulled pork, the event provides a gastronomic journey through a plethora of culinary delights. Additionally, the festival prides itself on an incredible Artisan Market, host to over 100 market traders showcasing local produce, fresh-baked goods, hand-made crafts, and art. Those seeking refreshment can enjoy the range of independent bars , available alongside a full ale-house, in Partnership with Tyne Bank Brewery,  featuring craft ales and cask favourites.

The festival will also be working with Tyneside & Northumberland Mind as their charity partner, having raised over £100,000 already for mental health initiatives across the North.

As the event nears, hosts expect thousands to attend The Newcastle Food & Drink Festival for its debut in Exhibition Park on May 4th-6th.
