Hop on down to Sage Gateshead this Easter for family fun!

Spring is in the air, the kids are on the countdown to the Easter holidays - and Sage Gateshead has fun for all the family lined up!
School holidays can be an expensive time of year, but Sage Gateshead has filled the Easter holidays with budget-friendly activities for families. Under 7s can sing, dance and hop along with Sage Gateshead’s fantastic Early Years musicians to celebrate the arrival of Spring and blue skies in the popular Big Family Hop! (Tuesday 11 April, 11am, 1pm & 2.30pm). Bunny ears and Easter bonnets are encouraged! Tickets are priced from £3.50-£4 with family tickets available at £12.
The Easter bunny has been up to all sorts of mischief! Children of all ages can follow clues around the building that leads to a chocolate surprise in the Easter Trail (Saturday 1 April-Saturday 15 April, 11am-4pm). Tickets are available from Sage Gateshead’s Shop at just £2 per child.
Grab the last few remaining spaces and join an unexpected adventure with The Owl and the Pussycat (Saturday 8 April, 11am, 2pm & 4pm), in a joyful retelling of the Edward Lear classic. The energetic show for little explorers under 7 and their grownups uses puppets and live music to bring the timeless tale to life for an Easter holiday treat. Tickets are priced from £5-£8 with family tickets available at £22.
Also in April, Gateshead International Jazz Festival (GIJF) is back for a jazz-filled weekend Friday 31 March-Sunday 2 April with special concerts for families. Family Show with the Instant Composers Pool (Saturday 1 April, 2pm) is open to all ages and provides a whistle-stop tour of this Dutch jazz orchestra’s many styles with a chance for audience members to become ‘instant composers’ too! Family Jazz All Stars with Zoe Gilby (Sunday 2 April, 11am) is an unmissable family show including songs from jazz down the years and distinctive takes on popular classics. Perfect for all the family – from children to grandparents.
Alongside the fantastic selection of performances and family events, customers are always welcome to pop in to Sage Gateshead for a cuppa and slice of cake in the family-friendly Sir Michael Straker Café where little ones can play in the interactive playspace on the Concourse. Children’s portions are available on many dishes in the cafe and special themed menus are frequently available.
