Further Casting Announced for Newcastle Theatre Royal's Aladdin

The magic carpet is preparing for lift‑off as Newcastle Theatre Royal today [Thu 26 Jun] announces further casting for their glittering panto, Aladdin (Tue 25 Nov 2025 - Sun 18 Jan 2026). Wayne Smith, Rachel Stanley and Billie-Kay will join previously announced Newcastle panto favourites Danny Adams and Clive Webb (who celebrate their 20th Newcastle panto season), along with Chris Hayward as Mother Goose, Joe McElderry as The Spirit of the Ring and Mick Potts as The Genie of the Lamp, in a spectacular new production written and directed by Michael Harrison.

Acclaimed West End leading lady Rachel Stanley takes on the role of The Wicked Witch. Rachel’s credits range from 42nd Street, Grease and Chicago in London and Paris to scene‑stealing panto turns as The Wicked Queen in Snow White and Magical Mermaid in Peter Pan.

Wayne Smith, a Tyneside favourite, returns to the Theatre Royal as the irrepressible Old King Cole. Wayne’s extensive stage career includes leading roles in Dirty Dancing, Jersey Boys and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, alongside a host of Newcastle panto appearances from Snow White to Pinocchio.

Rising musical‑theatre star Billie‑Kay makes her Newcastle panto debut as Princess Jasmine. A graduate of Italia Conti, Billie‑Kay won Best Supporting Female Actor at the Black British Theatre Awards for Annie and is currently starring in the world premiere of Burlesque the Musical. Billie-Kay joins the cast after appearing in the past two pantomime seasons at Birmingham Hippodrome alongside Alison Hammond.

This is Aladdin as it’s never been seen before - with a Tyneside twist! With brand-new sets and costumes designed especially for Newcastle Theatre Royal, Aladdin promises to be a Genie-us  pantomime.
