Food, Drink, Funk and Soul Music with BBC Radio 6Music DJ Craig Charles

The Boiler Shop Steamer Christmas Special will provide the best in food, drink and entertainment to get you into the Christmas spirit.
The North East’s vibrant monthly event, founded by Riley’s Fish Shack and Wylam Brewery (Steamer Events Ltd) in association with Silverlink Holdings, is treating its visitors to a Christmas Special and welcoming the best in funk and soul from Craig Charles, Smoove and Turrell and The Soul Circle Gang.
Held in the impressive surroundings of The Boiler Shop, in Newcastle’s emerging Stephenson Quarter, the birthplace of the Robert Stephenson’s Rocket, the event attracts over 3000 people every month to sample the UK’s leading street food vendors, local ales, cocktails, with a great line up of entertainment. With only 750 tickets on sale, it’s a must in the North East social calendar for Friday December 20.
Entertainment will be provided by Craig Charles host to Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show on BBC Radio 6 Music alongside his successful acting career. Smoove and Turrell, The Geordie Duo, will be taking a break from recording their latest album and showcasing their hit singles. From Leeds brings The Soul Circle Gang who will weave elements of funk, soul and jazz into this fabulous event.
Alongside this amazing line-up there will be all The Steamer trimmings. There will be a chance to see art showcased from local and international artists, cinema, the ping pong pod is back by popular demand and various boutiques, to enjoy while sipping mulled wine or local ales and sampling the festive food on offer.
