MORE PRIZES ALONG THE WAY
The big trip and Social Darts for life aren’t the only things up for grabs. From today, as the countdown to a billion truly kicks off, every Flight Club venue across the UK will be surprising and delighting guests with daily treats, from complimentary drinks to bar tabs and brunches.
NEWCASTLE’S SOCIALISING HABITS REVEALED
Over the last decade, having hosted more than 14.4 million people across 12 different cities in the UK alone, Flight Club knows a thing or two about the nation’s socialising habits. As the billion darts mark approaches, today the Social Darts bar releases its inaugural Flight Club Social Index, revealing the lay of the land when it comes to going out and getting competitive.
The Index, based on Flight Club’s proprietary booking and gaming data, reveals some surprising insights into the socialising styles of the UK’s key cities, including Newcastle, with the city’s party-hard reputation firmly underlined.
The Competition Kings:
In a shock result for the Toon, Newcastle has been named the UK’s least competitive city, clocking in 268 darts per hour compared to Bristolians, who top the list with 406 per hour. As Newcastle is Flight Club’s newest venue, its guests are clearly still finding their feet and brining out their competitive streak, but the Geordies need to up their game if they want to escape the bottom of the league and take on the likes of Bristol and Oxford.
Eager Party Starters:
Newcastle’s world-famous party reputation is backed up by the data, which reveals Geordies as some of the most eager socialisers in the country. Ranking second in the Home-by-10-Heroes category (5–8 pm), it’s clear that in the Northeast, the party starts early. While they hold a strong fourth-place position for late-night bookings post-10 pm, their high ranking for earlier slots proves that Newcastle doesn't wait for the sun to go down to hit the town. For Geordies, Flight Club is the starting point – a launchpad for a legendary night that begins earlier than their southern counterparts.
The Mid-Week Masters:
Newcastle’s dedication to a good time remains undeniable, as the city ranks fourth in the Mid-Week Masters category (bookings between 5-8 pm, Tuesday–Thursday), behind London, Bristol and Birmingham respectively. Proving they don’t let a little thing like work the next day get in the way of a social, Newcastle consistently outperforms the likes of Manchester (5th) and Liverpool (12th) when it comes to Tuesday-to-Thursday get-togethers.
The Work Hard, Play Hard Champions
When it comes to the "Work Hard, Play Hard" mantra, Newcastle is the undisputed national champion. The city ranks number one in the UK for post-work socialising, boasting more bookings between 5-7 pm Monday to Friday than any other city – even beating out London. Geordies are most likely to make a swift transition from the office to the oche, proving that a post-work social is a non-negotiable part of the weekly routine. At the other end of the scale, Manchester and Liverpool ranked 11th and 12th place respectively.
The Social Butterflies:
Brummies are revealed as the most sociable bunch in the UK, boasting the largest group sizes for their Flight Club get-togethers. While Newcastle is known for its friendliness, the data shows that Geordie groups tend to keep things slightly more focused on the inner circle compared to the bigger groups found in Birmingham, as the city ranked ninth in the category.
Newcastle’s Favourite Game:
In Newcastle, and across every single UK city in fact, Demolition is revealed as Flight Club’s most-played game of the year. The fast-paced game sees players aim to demolish a virtual tower of blocks, reducing their score from 180 to zero. It’s one of seven games in total at Flight Club, including the brand-new Limbo, where, like the classic party game, players must go lower than the previous player.
The Social Darts Super Stars:
Every city has its stand-out stars, and despite only opening its doors in November 2025, Newcastle has already found a champion. Christy G is officially the city's most dedicated player with 12 visits in just a few short months. While it’s Manchester’s Ben W who takes the top spot for the UK as he is crowned the nation’s most dedicated player, having clocked up an impressive 79 visits to Flight Club.
Steve Moore, CEO & Founder at Flight Club, said: "Reaching one billion darts is a massive moment for us. It’s a testament to every single guest who has stepped up to the oche to celebrate, compete, and have fun. We wanted to mark this with something truly epic – a trip to a Flight Club destination of your choice and free darts for life feels like the right way to thank the people who made this possible. We’ll be celebrating every single throw as we head towards the big one, and we can’t wait to see which city ends up claiming the honour of the billionth dart."
