Festive Flashmob entertains M&S Newcastle Customers

The countdown to Christmas got well and truly underway at M&S on Northumberland St yesterday as a 25-strong singing flashmob serenaded shoppers with Christmas songs.
Dressed as M&S staff and acting as regular customers, the singers burst into song unannounced during the lunchtime rush, entertaining shoppers with Christmas songs such as Silent Night and Jingle Bells.
The performance was part of M&S Newcastle's in-store Taste of Christmas event which offers customers the chance to taste the retailer's Christmas range, from party food to novelty items. The event runs until Saturday 21st November.
Nikki McKidd, Store Manager at M&S Newcastle, said: "Our customers were truly surprised when the flashmob burst into song and whilst there were a few seconds of 'what is happening here', people soon started to enjoy the performance, with some even joining in!
"We hope the impromptu performance has helped to get our shoppers in the festive mood and we look forward to welcoming more customers to our Taste of Christmas event over the coming days."
