Fenwick Newcastle's Christmas Rooftop Experience Returns

Expect giant candy canes, a gingerbread cabin and the ultimate elf distribution centre - following last year's Christmas phenomenon, Fenwick Newcastle have announced their ‘Santa on the Rooftop’ experience is back. This year's event is set to be more magical then ever before.

Let imaginations run wild and discover a rooftop filled with scrumptious surprises in a brand new, winter wonderland, immersive, festive experience, from Saturday 2nd November through to Christmas Eve.

The iconic Northumberland Street store’s exclusive festive attraction will see ticketholders escorted by an elf from the Lower Ground Floor Christmas Hall via Santa’s Express Elevator to begin a magical journey to meet Santa in his gingerbread cabin.

The first stop is the Elf Locker Room, where little ones can have an Elf-Over and be transformed into one of Santa’s little helpers, before passing through a forest of giant candy canes where they will be greeted by singing reindeers on the rooftop.

Hop into one of the sugar-coated elf-mobiles in the rooftop carpark whilst waiting for the Head Elf to lead the way to a special gingerbread door, to meet Father Christmas in his cabin. The sweetest children will then have access to his workshop through a secret passage, where they can discover a paradise of neon lights and help the Gangsta Wrappers with Christmas crafts such as festive biscuit decorating.

After passing through a sparkling sugar-like snow flurry, visitors can stop at Club Claus, where the cheeky elves go to let their hair down after working hard and enjoy a hot chocolate, or for the grown-ups, a warming mulled wine and sweet treat.

The festive adventure comes to an end in the distribution centre, where guests can have the ultimate Instagram moment posing in Santa’s sleigh for an ‘Elfie’ as the busy elves load gifts on the conveyer belt behind.

Carl Milton, Store Director at Fenwick Newcastle, said: “Last year was a first for both the store and region as we launched a series of bespoke events in the run up to Christmas including our immersive Santa on the Rooftop experience. We were thrilled that it was so well received and wanted to make this year even better than the last; we can’t wait for the people of the North East to see it.”

Fenwick Newcastle’s rooftop pop up cinema is also back bringing a sprinkling of cinematic magic to the city with a festive programme of movies throughout the Christmas season.

Ensuring an unforgettable experience, guests can choose from a mulled wine or non-alcoholic tipple and spiced mince pie while children can enjoy gumdrop teddies and a juice box, all included within the ticket price.

Fenwick’s Santa on the Rooftop is a 45-minute magical experience for a group of up to six people running every day from 2nd November until Christmas Eve. Priced at £12.50 for adults and children over the age of 2.

Santa’s Rooftop Cinema opens on Friday 2nd November and runs until Christmas Eve. Tickets are priced at £12.50. This event is not suitable for children under 2 years of age.

This year’s list of Christmas screenings include; Elf, It’s A Wonderful Life, The Holiday, Home Alone, White Christmas, Polar Express, Love Actually, Miracle on 34th Street, Muppets Christmas Carol, Die Hard and Arthur Christmas.
