Fenwick Newcastle Expands Filto Experience With New Cafe

Fenwick today announces the opening of Café Filto, bringing a fresh café experience to its flagship store on Northumberland Street, following the resounding success of Filto’s Matcha Bar.

Located on the lower ground floor, Café Filto will open for visitors from 9am on Friday 23rd January, and will serve food and drink daily between 9am and 6pm Monday to Saturday & 10:30am to 4:30pm Sunday.

Filto’s Matcha Bar first opened its doors in November last year, originally located on the first floor within womenswear. Since then, it has become a firm favourite among shoppers and was known for its coffees, matcha and light bites.

The expansion will bring an enhanced menu to guests, including a variety of breakfast options which will be served until midday, alongside a selection of hand-crafted lunches, speciality coffees, cocktails and their famous matcha.

Breakfast highlights include ‘The Filto Benedict’ – locally sourced flat iron steak served with poached eggs, crispy bacon and hash browns served on toasted sourdough, ‘Steak and Eggs’ and the ‘Filto Full English’. Also served will be a variety of vegetarian options, including Turkish Eggs, Avocado Chilli and Lime, and the ‘Filto Veggie Full’.

Lunchtime visitors can also enjoy a selection of Fenwick exclusives, including ‘Pil Pil Tagliatelle’ served with tiger prawns, tomato sauce, chilli and garlic, ‘Cajun Steak Tagliatelle’ and ‘Steak Frites’, alongside several salad options.

Also available will be a menu of hot drinks, cocktails and wines, alongside a range of Filto’s infamous matcha flavours, including Blueberry, Banana Bread, White Chocolate and Raspberry, Tiramisu and Dulce De Leche.

Café Filto’s arrival marks an exciting step in the brand’s ambitions for continued regional expansion, and follows the launch of Filto, its flagship Café in Sandyford, which opened its doors to visitors in August last year.
