Everything you need to know about the NE1 Newcastle Motor Show

The NE1 Newcastle Motor Show returns this weekend for its second year, and it is bigger and better than before. Whether you're preparing to spend the entire weekend browsing the huge number of cars on show, or debating popping your head in to take a look, we have all the information you need both before and during the weekend!

When is it?

The NE1 Newcastle Motor Show takes place on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th July.

What time does it start and end?

The show opens at 10am on both days, and the 'Grand Depart', where every car revs their engines and drives off in convoy, is at 4pm.

Where is it?

Stretching from Northumberland Street, down to Grey's Monument, then down Grey Street, as well as Grainger Street, High Bridge and the Bigg Market. Through the very heart of the city!

How much is it?

The best part, every aspect of the NE1 Newcastle Motor Show is entirely free to attend.

What can I expect to see?

Cars, cars, cars! Of all shapes and sizes. From Ferraris and Lamborghinis through to Mustangs, Cobras, TVRs, Porsches and more. From the 1930s to the current day, all eras are represented. There will be supercars, muscle cars, vintage cars, and a special nostalgia section.

On top of all this, there will be no fewer than nine car dealerships with displays at the event including Aston Martin, Bentley and Jaguar, as well as sections devoted to modified vehicles and a display of vintage scooters!

What's new this year?

As mentioned above, there will be modified cars housed in the Bigg Market, honed to perfection through hard work, tears and mechanic receipts! As well as this, High Bridge will be home to Lambrettas for the weekend and the stream of Private Exhibitors cars will stretch even further down Grey Street. Old Eldon Square will see a giant screen showing all the action from the British Grand Prix over the weekend as well as car-related movies when the action lulls, and Northumberland Street plays host to two Dealerships entering the NE1 Newcastle Motor Show for the first time.

What is there apart from cars?

There's plenty to do away from the cars as well, with the giant screen at Old Eldon Square screening the British Grand Prix, as well as showing the original 'The Italian Job' on Saturday afternoon, and Pixar's 'Cars' on Sunday morning. There are also racing simulators to race your friends and a Treasure Hunt for the little ones to tick off and complete for prizes!
