Event Organiser Dave Stone from Wylam Brewery said ‘Last years event was fantastic given that it was the first year of the event but we don’t want to rest on our laurels. This year will see a notable increase in the amount of Breweries represented with over 60 of the Worlds leading Craft Breweries in attendance showcasing more than 300 excellent beers. We will be welcoming some amazing Breweries to the UK for the first time as well as looking forward to seeing the return of some firm favourites and of course ensuring that the North East’s Brewing Community are well represented. We will have some great speakers in attendance, the details of which we will be announcing in the coming weeks, however we can announce today that the highly respected author Pete Brown will be hosting an In Conversation session with us during the Sunday Day session plus we have a plethora of incredible Brewers taking part in the Meet The Brewer sessions some of which are coming from as far as New Zealand and the USA to be with us. Another new addition to the programme will be a ‘Beer School’ session for those keen to learn more about the basics of brewing.’ ‘Also, this year we will have a Barrel Aged Beer selection that will be served directly from the wood. There have been some amazing advances in barrel ageing techniques since the last event and we want to make sure this is reflected at Craft Beer Calling 2015’ During the event there will be a small working brew house on site and Brewers in attendance will be invited to collaborate on small batch brews that will then be laid down and aged for consumption at CBC 2016. ‘We are excited to once again bring the Worlds Brewing Community to the North East.’ Dave Stone added ‘We have a vibrant and ever evolving beer scene in the region and it’s great that Craft Beer Calling can act as a focus for the great work everybody is doing here.’ A full list of Breweries that will be in attendance will be unveiled in the run up to the event however notable new additions announced today include Stone Brewing Co. (USA), Mikkeller (Denmark), Sierra Nevada (USA), Nomad Brewing Co. (Aus), Brew By Numbers, Moor Beer Company, Northern Monk Brew Co., Partizan Brewing, Roosters and Cloudwater Brew Co. The first wave of Breweries announced to be returning for 2015 are The Kernel Brewery, Beavertown Brewery, Five Points Brewing Co., Camden Town Brewery, Magic Rock Brewing, Wild Beer Co., Redchurch Brewery, Harbour Brewing Company, Liverpool Craft Beer Co.  and Lagunitas Brewing (USA) On a final note – the CBC Closing Party will see the return of International DJ/Recording Artiste Mr Scruff to the turntables. ‘Last year Mr Scruff brought the curtain down on Craft Beer Calling with a fantastic musical journey playing a five hour set that was the perfect finale to a fabulous weekend. There is no one in the World we feel better equipped to do this and it’s with great pleasure that we welcome him back’.
