Children’s favourite, Room on the Broom, comes to Tyne Theatre and Opera House
Tall Stories’ fun-filled adaptation of best-selling picture book, Room on the Broom, comes to the Tyne Theatre and Opera House stage on Tuesday 2nd and Wednesday 3rd June 2020.
The Room on the Broom live stage show brings Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s wonderful characters to life, allowing audiences to join the witch and her cat on their journey.
When travelling on their broomstick the witch and her cat pick up some hitch-hikers – a friendly dog, a beautiful green bird and a frantic frog. But this broomstick’s not meant for five and – CRACK – it snaps in two… just as the hungry dragon appears!

Theatre Director Joanne Johnson says: “I’m delighted that we have another live adaptation of one of Julia Donaldson and Axel Schefler’s much-loved books coming to the Tyne Theatre stage - they’re such a wonderful treat for young children. We’ve had Stick Man, Zog and Tiddler and Other Terrific Tales here in previous years, and we still have Tabby McTat to come this October. It’s lovely to see children enjoying the magic of theatre.”
Room on the Broom is showing at 4:30pm on Tuesday 2nd June and 10:30am & 1:30pm on Wednesday 3rd June.
