Boomchang Records present their showcase night

Newcastle label Boomchang Records presents a showcase night featuring some of the best acts on their extensive roster. Headlining the night is Simma & The Lychnobite band, riding high on the critically acclaimed album released last year. Hosted by label boss and music legend Steve Cunningham, the showcase will be on Friday June 5, at The Bridge Hotel, Castle Garth Newcastle at 7:30pm, entry is £5 Hailing from Newcastle Upon Tyne in North East England, Simma has been building a loyal following since 1997 as a solo acoustic artist and singer-songwriter. This performance sees him joined by a collection of outstanding musicians to perform songs from his latest album Lychnobite. Dubbed “Newcastle’s Acoustic Hero” by Metro, Simma is also well known as a performance poet. His collection of comic poetry called ‘Last Night I Married the Audience’ is released through Zebra Publishing and has brought great critical acclaim from many media sources including BBC Radio 4 and The Journal, who states: “Amazingly well-observed slices of life … In turns tender and downright hilarious peppered with perceptive lines, he writes deliciously.” Also on the bill are up and coming country punk Lee McDade and renowned songwriter and performer Hayley Ellen.
