An audience with Jamal Edwards

Call NE1’s Space 2… will host an exclusive Audience With… online youth media mogul Jamal Edwards on Saturday 25 October to celebrate the launch of the inaugural NE1’s Newcastle Music Week from 25 – 31 October. Jamal is famed for setting up his SB TV channel when he was only 15 and has gone on to build an online media channel that is now one of the major forces in online youth broadcasting.  He is a self-made multi-millionaire listed in the Sunday Times youth rich list and is truly entrepreneurial with interests in clothing, music and restaurants – co-owning a chain of health food, fast food outlets under the UGOT brand. Dubbed the urban Richard Branson, Jamal is an ambassador for the brand Puma and had a Google chrome ad produced on his life story.   He is responsible for launching the careers of many new music artists including Ed Sheeran, who will be performing in Newcastle on Saturday 25th October. Jamal will be appearing at NE1’s Space 2… at 4.30pm.  Entry to the event is free on presentation of a NE1’s Newcastle Music Week wristband, which can be picked up for free at a number of venues across the city. Jamal will talk to young people at NE1’s Space 2… about how he got into the business and offer advice to those interested in a career in the music or media industry. Jamal will be in Newcastle for the launch of NE1’s Newcastle Music Week and the search for new musical talent which he is kicking off in Newcastle via his UGOT restaurant chain.  Called ‘On The Right Tracks’, the talent search will get underway on Saturday 25th with a series of performances from 10 new and emerging North East artists at Newcastle Central Station. The performances will take place between 2 – 4 pm on platform 2 at Central Station.
