12 things to look out for at the NE1 Newcastle Motor Show

With the NE1 Newcastle Motor Show just around the corner, we gathered together a definitive list of some of the most jaw-dropping, entertaining or amazing things to watch out for over the weekend. From supercars, to racing cars, new technology to old classics and much more, this handy list will make sure you don't miss anything to tell your friends about come Monday!
Renault Sport F1 car
Exhibitors Infiniti Newcastle have pulled some serious strings to secure this. Silverstone and Newcastle have at least one thing in common this weekend, there is an F1 presence at both. Get closer than you could ever envision to this beautiful machine, and take it in, instead of watching a blur fly past every 2 minutes, even better!
INGSport Z4 Racing Car
It's like a BMW Z4...if it went to the gym. Every day. For 20 years. And ate only chicken and broccoli.
INGSport, from their offices on Grey Street, are bringing this beast out to play, and to make you reconsider everything you think you know about BMW's sporty roadster. This is something else entirely.
The Doodlebug
This really is audience-participation at its finest, and undoubtedly the ONLY vehicle on show this weekend to offer this; scrawl a message in chalk on the paintwork of this VW Beetle, its coated in matt paint specifically for it!
*We do not advise writing in chalk on any other car at the show!
BMW i8
A 'hybrid supercar' and a head-turner wherever you are, this is guaranteed to be a fan favourite this weekend. With the sleek lines and elegant design of a supercar, and a top speed of 155mph, it's also a plug-in. Yes you read that right, it's electric. Chat to the i specialists attending the car this weekend and find out how they've married one element with the other!
Bentley and their Hospitality Unit
As you round the Monument, be prepared to be transported to another place. This Bentley Hospitality Unit has to be seen to be believed! Enjoy a beverage on a deckchair surrounded by shrubs on artificial turf, this takes the Dealer Display idea and really runs with it, a must-see!
Aston Martin Vantage GT8 and DB11
Some of the most fabulous cars you'll see this weekend, Aston Martin's DB11, their most powerful DB model ever made, and the beautiful Vantage GT8 (one of only 150 ever made), both situated alongside the Aston Martin Hospitality Unit and their other beautiful models. A set of 5 cars of such high standard you may find it difficult to move on anywhere else.
Tesla Motors
Making the trip from Leeds so keen were they to be part of the NE1 Newcastle Motor Show, Tesla Motors are at the very forefront of automotive technology. So advanced in fact that we can't even discuss the things we've talked about. Ask them yourselves this weekend...but they may have to silence you afterwards!
4-Seat Racing Simulator
Ever questioned who amongst your friends was the best driver? Fancy taking them on in simulated surroundings? Find the simulator this weekend and race against up to three of your friends, or strangers. Claim the title for the fastest lap over the weekend and proclaim yourself Newcastle's greatest simulator driver!
Screen on the Green
Torn between watching the British Grand Prix and attending the NE1 Newcastle Motor Show? Well now you don't need to, as the NE1 Newcastle Motor Show is bringing a giant screen to Old Eldon Square, which will screen all the practice, qualifying and race action from the whole weekend as Lewis Hamilton aims to cut the gap in the World Championship. Not only that, it will also be screening the original 'The Italian Job' at 2pm on Saturday, and Pixar's 'Cars' at 10am on Sunday. All to be enjoyed from the NE1 deckchairs!
Modified Vehicles
From the Fast and Furious to the Bigg Market, one of the new areas will see the finest modified and adapted cars situated in the historic Bigg Market. Souped-up, lowered, raised, expanded or deconstructed, these cars have had hours of love and care from their original selves, surprises lurk behind every car and nothing is as it seems here!
Classic Scooters
A beautiful old street deserves beautiful vehicles. This year Highbridge Street will play host to a collection of Lambrettas, so if scooters are your thing, take a break from the supercars and meander through the more gentle surrounds of the cobbles whilst enjoying the fine vehicles on show.
Private Exhibitors Cars
And of course, the largest collection of the lot, lining both sides of Grey Street, a collection of the finest, most varied and most wonderful cars in the entire country. From Lamborghinis to Mustangs, Ferraris to TVRs, Porsches, Cobras and more. Covering every era from 1930 to present-day, the Exhibitors Area will hold your attention whatever you're into.
All this and much more, do not miss the NE1 Newcastle Motor Show this weekend, and make sure you have a good wander about, because there are surprises lurking throughout the heart of the city all weekend!
