10th Birthday fun for all the family

Sage Gateshead continues it's 10th Birthday celebrations into the weekend with some great events, especially for families.
On Saturday 20th December, you can bring all the family along for a FREE funfair-themed day of making, doing, eating and laughing as Sage Gateshead becomes the best place on Tyneside for festive fun. From 11am to 4pm, you can expect a day of wonderful performances from the venue's own fantastic choirs, bands and performers. There will also be ukulele workshops, spraypaint art sessions, face painting (charges apply), singing, a virtual-reality experience and much more.
And on both Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st December, from 11am until 4pm, you'll have chance to do some last minute shopping at a Maker's Fair, with a range of beautiful, unique, and hand-crafted gifts on sale.
And if that wasn't enough, the bravest visitors will have a chance to literally fly through the air at Sage Gateshead on the brand new Funfair zip wire. This new attraction will run from 11am to 1pm and 2pm to 4pm both days (with additional sessions available from Monday 22 to Wednesday 24 December). It costs just £5 a zip (more information at www.sagegateshead.com)
What's more, Sage Gateshead's Christmas favourite is back, with screenings of the classic animated film 'The Snowman' accompanied by Royal Northern Sinfonia playing Howard Blake's magical score in live concerts between 22 to 24 December. Again - more information can be found at www.sagegateshead.com
Alongside these family-specific events, there is still lots to come at Sage Gateshead's 6-day Funfair festival, with concerts from Royal Northern Sinfonia, Inspiration Choir, Eliza Carthy plus 10 and Maximo Park's Paul Smith and Field Music's Peter Brewis performing ‘Frozen by Sight’.
