Lunchtime Concert - The Willow Tree: Newcastle University

Join Glasgow-based clàrsach trio The Willow Tree at Newcastle University's King's Hall for a performance of their new work, The Swan of Salen.

A folk ballet created in collaboration with Ballet Folk and Thistle Ridge Films, The Swan of Salen is an adaptation of Tchaikovsky’s iconic Swan Lake, retold through the lens of the Gaelic tale of Eala Shàilein, it blends traditional music from the Loch Sunart area with the classical score. 

This performance features a film of the ballet, projected behind the three harpists performing a live-synced score.
