Getting Ready For Summer With John Lewis

Last updated:

As the school holidays approach and we’re fully into the summer, you might find yourself looking for some summer essentials – from your wardrobe to your garden. And John Lewis is here to cover all your needs!

The four-floor flagship store in the heart of Eldon Square can always be relied upon for bargains and there’s often a sale or two (changing rapidly across the departments), meaning even more bargains to be had. In fact, the Summer Sale started this week, timing!

Whilst John Lewis is an obvious destination for all sorts of items, there are plenty of surprises too. For example, did you know there’s Bureau de Change at the Customer Service desk on Floor 2? So you can arrange all your foreign currency for your summer holiday at the same time as stocking up on sunhats, swimwear, beach towels, flip flops and all your other beach needs across the clothing departments. You can even take all the stress out of getting your beach look just right by booking a personal styling service appointment in the womenswear or menswear departments – it’s free!

If you’re having a staycation, deck your outdoor space in style with the garden buildings and pods that you can order from the Outdoor Living department on Floor 2. While you’re there, you can also buy picnicware and outdoor upholstery or splash out on a new outdoor pizza oven or BBQ (John Lewis will assemble your JL BBQ for just £40!). There’s even a 50% off sale on selected garden lighting at the time of writing...

From there, head to the Home Tech department on the same floor to get the latest Bluetooth speakers, Kindles and noise cancelling headphones, everything you need to relax or get the party started. The cookshop on the lower ground floor has everything you need for drinks in the garden in the sunshine – from Soda Streams and syrups to acrylic glasses and cocktail kits.

As well as all the sports equipment and clothing you’d expect, there are plenty of outdoor toys and games in the Toy department on Floor 1 to keep the kids entertained, from swingball to trampolines, and airline-approved strollers for the jet-setting toddlers in your life in the nursery department.

After all that, well if it all gets too much, just grab yourself a hand-held fan to stop yourself melting!
