5 Minutes With: Lloyd Griffith - All-Rounder, The Stand Comedy Club
NE1 talks to Lloyd Griffith ahead of his show, 'All-Rounder' at The Stand Comedy Club this February. "Commedy is essentially a hobby that has got out of hand," says the comedian, presenter and choirboy!
First time in the Toon?
No, I love Newcastle. My sister was at uni here so I've had many nights out - got drunk in The Mushroom on £6, result! I also used to come see Grimsby play Newcastle when we were in the same league (yes, in the 90s) - and I've supported Jack Whitehall and Rob Beckett on tour up here too.
Have you brought your coat?
I grew up in Grimsby, so this is a holiday! I'll be wearing a vest and crocs!
Best Tyneside moment?
Probably supporting Jack Whitehall at the Arena in 2017. What an incredible gig that was!
Favourite Geordie?
Has to be Sting, surely? What a legend.
NE1 plans?
Heading to The Mushroom after the gig, obviously. Other than that, try and get to a game if Newcastle are playing.
What would you be doing if you weren’t here now?
Either a choirboy, or in prison - or both!
Tell us a fun fact?
I sang on the last Bee Gee's Christmas album, and that will never change!
Don't miss out on a memorable evening and have a proper laugh with Lloyd this Sunday 24th February at The Stand Comedy Club. Tickets: thestand.co.uk
