Lauren Ray supporting Rebecca Ferguson: Tyne Theatre & Opera House

This Event has passed

Having spent most of her life moving house, the nomadic singer-songwriter Lauren Ray feels most at home on stage.

To kick off 2018 Lauren will be the official support for Rebecca Ferguson’s UK tour. You can catch the brilliant vocalists at Newcastle’s Tyne Theatre and Opera House on 20th February 2018.

Learn more about Lauren:

With a South African/Polish father and English/Irish mother, Singer/Songwriter Lauren grew up living in Poland, Austria and eventually the UK – moving frequently from Chester, Norwich, Amersham, Brighton and eventually settling in London to pursue Music.

Once in London after receiving a degree in Anthropology from Sussex University, Lauren spent her time performing in Central London Hotel’s whilst songwriting in London, LA and Nashville whenever possible as well as holding down jobs closely tied with the music industry to gain experience.

After years of gigging and writing but no traditional label in sight, Lauren took matters into her own hands by securing a financial loan and self-funded the recording and release of her debut album ‘We Will Need Courage’ to critical acclaim. With a number of new songs written with hit songwriter Martin Sutton (Leann Rimes) under her belt and Nashville producer Neilson Hubbard (Matthew PerryMan Jones) on board to help capture her sound with top Nashville musicians, Lauren’s debut ticks all the right boxes for fans of classic singer songwriters. With Ray’s velvety smooth and effortlessly sultry tones, highlights on the album include singles ‘Come To Me’ and ‘Drive’ which received big UK regional BBC Radio support as well as support from BBC introducing.

The release of her debut and an incredible cover of David Gray’s ‘Babylon’ on Youtube then caught the attention of a Dance Record label A&R who introduced her to US DJ/Producer Jason Ross. Lauren’s smooth vocals lend themselves beautifully to Jasons’ vocal releases ‘Me Tonight’ and ‘I Will Be There’ both released on Anjunabeats and together has over 1 million streams on Spotify and reached #1 and #2 in the Beatport Trance charts.

With momentum continuing to build for Lauren, she was then invited to support X Factor’s Lucy Spraggan on her 31 date UK tour to positive reviews and gaining further support from regional press, radio and BBC introducing.
