The stunning Lindisfarne Gospels has long been hailed as the most spectacular surviving manuscript of the Middle Ages and now it’s returning to its North East roots!
From Saturday 17th September to Saturday 3rd December, the Lindisfarne Gospels will be on display at the Laing Art Gallery as part of a contemporary exhibition that explores its meaning and links to personal, regional and national identity. Other medieval treasures from across the country will also be on display, alongside a new work from Turner Prize-winning artist Jeremy Deller.
