Highlighting the hard work needed to win women the vote in the UK, Deeds not Words is performed 24th November 2018 at Dance City in NE1. It is the latest work by Abbott Dance Theatre and marks the 100 year anniversary of the Representation of People's Act established in 1918 where some women over the age of 30 won the right to vote.
Artistic Director Kristin Kelly Abbott has been the driving force behind this powerful and beautiful piece, highlighting the harsh realities of the suffragette movement. Alongside the professional dancers, Deeds Not Words will feature choral music by Morpeth-based community female choir Werca’s Folk and community dance group for the over 50’s - Dance for Fun.
