Medieval Lecture at Blackfriars: Blackfriars Restaurant

This Event has passed

On Saturday 21st of April 2018, Blackfriars will host, in partnership with Durham University's IMEMS, the 13th Public Medieval Lecture.

Blackfriars will welcome Dr Adrian Green, Department of History from Durham University to discuss: 'Exploring Blackfriars and its immediate history after the Middle Ages'.

The monastic buildings of Blackfriars were converted after the Dissolution of the Monasteries into meeting halls for some of Newcastle’s craft guilds. This talk looks at how the architecture of Blackfriars was adapted by the guilds, and relates the building to the other guild meeting halls around the town.
