The Barre

Description

The body-sculpting, fat-burning workout. Direct from the USA, The Barre is a 60 minute total-body workout combining elements of Pilates, resistance training, and ballet. The majority of the regime is performed on a ballet barre (from which it takes its name).

It produces a defined, lean, muscular body shape akin to that of a dancer even though you may never have done a dance step in your life! The programme takes the most effective dance training moves and strips them down to the base mechanics of the movement (removing all the "fluffy" stuff), these muscle mechanics make up the Barre routine. Short series of small, intense movements targets individual muscle groups to a fast "burn", which is immediately followed by a stretching series of that muscle group.
