Where To Celebrate National Cupcake Week 2018 In NE1

Last updated:

With The Great British Bake Off in full swing, we're already going cuckoo for cooking - particularly when it comes to baking those sweet treats!

Things are about to get even more cake crazy though, as National Cupcake Week kicks off! To give the celebration the attention it deserves, we’ve rounded up our top spots for satisfying a sweet tooth in Newcastle…

18 - 24 SEPTEMBER 2018

THE GREAT BRITISH CUPCAKERY

The Great British Cupcakery is a family affair that promises a touch of class. Pop in and choose from a mouth-watering selection, including the all-important cupcake. If you’re looking for something really special, why not gather the family and book in for a deliciously decadent afternoon tea? And with its stunning new interior look - we can’t think of a better way to do justice to Cupcake Week!

DREAMWORLD CAKES PATISSERIE

Another little gem by the river, Dreamworld Cakes Patisserie is something special - perfect for National Cupcake Week celebrations! Step into the shop in Ouseburn and you’ll be forgiven for thinking you’ve arrived in cake heaven! Platters weighed down with sticky toffee torte, vanilla macarons, creamy chocolate eclairs and even more sumptuous sweets. The patisserie is acclaimed for its wedding cakes and other made-to-order creations, but stopping by to grab a bite on the go is just as tempting right now.

VIOLETS

Violets is fast becoming one of Newcastle fave cafes, and it’s obvious why: the sweet little eatery offers a playful and colourful approach to food, which extends all the way to its delicious cakes. Expect pops of fruit and edible flowers adorning your darling desserts. They look (almost) too good to eat! A muffin from Violet’s is ideal this week, but if you’re not feeling so hungry, a refreshingly sweet milkshake comes a close second.

PINK LANE BAKERY

Pink Lane is a perfect spot for quirky shops, coffee hangouts and local favourite, The Jazz Café all jostling for space. This week, though, it’s all about Pink Lane Bakery. Grab a doughnut, a hearty helping of fruit loaf, or a slice of freshly prepared cake. It might be the first time you’ve visited the jazzy pink painted shop, but we guarantee it won’t be the last…

LES PETITS CHOUX

Fresh and natural are the buzzwords at Les Petits Choux. An on-site kitchen ensures the cakes, scones and flatbreads are as fresh as can be. Biting into a little something from Les Petits Choux is the perfect way to start your day, or brighten up that lunch break. Work your way through the menu or pick a signature snack and become a regular.
