Fast-rising Liverpudlian rockers The Night Cafe spoke exclusively with NE1 ahead of their huge show at Riverside on 23 February!
Happy New Year lads! Any New Years’ Resolutions For 2022?
Hmm, we haven't really put much thought into resolutions this year personally you know. If we had to think of one, it would be to spend more time with the people we love - it's been pretty tricky to do that in the past few years.
You lot had a big 2021, dropping a new EP, supporting the DMA’s, festivals, what was the highlight for you?
Making the EP was really fun, it was a period of time when we were all just non-stop creating. We had a lot of fun on the videos too, we did one ourselves (which was a laugh) and then our friend Charlotte Patmore made another with us (which was also a laugh). Obviously being able to play a few shows near the end of the year felt good after such a long period with no gigs.
Finally, you’re getting to head out on your headline tour with the majority of venues sold out too, how much are you looking forward to hitting the road?
We cannot wait you know, it's been a long long time coming - I can't actually believe it's so close now. We finally get to tour our debut album, it's going to go off majorly!
You’re no strangers to a Newcastle show, do you enjoy playing in the Toon?
We love playing Newcastle, always have! Our best mates Plaza are a Hartlepool based band, so whenever we are up in Newcastle we always have a boss time seeing them too.
Got any favourite spots to hit when you’re in Newcastle?
The Dog and Parrot is the gaff!
Finally, what can we expect when you hit Riverside this year?
Just expect good times! We can't wait!
