STARLESS MIDNIGHT

Head over the water for a culture fix at the BALTIC in association with Freedom City 2017. In Martin Luther King's Newcastle University honorary degree acceptance speech he spoke of three urgent problems throughout the world: ‘the problem of racism, the problem of poverty and the problem of war.’ His words still ring true today and shedding light on those problems are a group of international artists exhibiting within BALTIC’s Level 3 gallery. Starless Midnight portrays the important legacies of Dr King and includes work from leading artist Edgar Arceneaux alongside participating artists Barby Asante, Louis Cameron, Charles Gains and Season Butler to name but a few. It’s a truly inspiring showcase - make sure you check it out this winter until 21 January  2018.
