SATURDAY 1 SEPTEMBER

Get down to the Great North Museum this weekend and hear the inspiring story of paralympic gold medalist, Megan Giglia MBE. She’s part of the Great Britain Cycling Team and now has her sights set clearly on Tokyo 2020!
R:U READY Newcastle? Make your way to Blackett Street this Saturday for a free pop - up fitness class in association with NE1! No fads... just fitness and fun for anybody who wants to join in and get the heart rate up! 10.30am - 11.15am.
Pop to a Pilgrim Street favourite this Saturday for a fantastic Mediterranean feast. Go to Don Vitos for antipasto specials, pizza, pasta and some of the city’s finest happy hour deals. Open 12pm - 10pm.
Pull up a deckchair at Old Eldon Square this Saturday and settle in for a screening of Murder on the Orient Express (12A). Pop to intu Eldon Square to pick up some foodie treats ahead of this 3pm screening.
The Roy Orbison and the Traveling Wilburys Experience is back in the Toon - and it’s set to be bigger and better than ever before! Make your way to the O2 Academy this Saturday to celebrate with the band as they journey through the story of Roy Orbison and the Wilburys.
Mostly Autumn are taking to the Sage stage this Saturday night and we wouldn’t want you to miss out on this evening of musical magnificence! They’re here in the North East to showcase their latest album, Sight of Day.
SUNDAY 2 SEPTEMBER

The all-new adaptation of Beatrix Potter’s classic tale is coming to NE1’s Screen on the Green this Sunday, as the summer of screenings comes to a close for another year. Gather the gang and get down to Old Eldon Square to catch Peter Rabbit from 12pm.
Get your culture fix in the Toon this Sunday with a series of Great Exhibition of the North events. Start your journey at BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, where you’ll find some of the city’s most inspiring visiting exhibitions from across the North.
Enjoy an afternoon of live entertainment at The Cluny this Sunday as The Smokin’ Spitfires take to the main stage. Expect good time tunes including horn driven stax, Atlantic soul and R&B, all in aid of The Bubble Foundation.
Sundays are for roasts, right? Round up your pals and make your way to The Forth Hotel on Pink Lane for perfect Yorkie puds, mouthwatering meats and the finest seasonal veg. The sirloin of beef with roasties is a must try for meat-eaters, while veggies can enjoy the nourishing nut roast!

Get your Sunday night music fix at Riverside Newcastle as L.A. Guns take to the stage after more than a decade apart. With a newfound energy and setlist, the band return to the UK this season, with a gig by the Tyne to close the first weekend in September!
